    1) I need EACH of you to please pick 3 companies and design T-shirts to send to them. MAKE THEM LOOK (somewhat) PROFESSIONAL! I’m attaching two templates. You can open/edit them with ‘Paint’ on any windows machine. I would like to mail these next weekend, so please do THREE and get them to me sometime next week! I’m including a list of companies, feel free to come up with some creative solutions. Keep in mind, we’re sending T-shirt designs to companies that would be capable of sponsoring at our $4,000 level. 3 files I’m attaching to this email:
    -T-shirt template
    -My Home Depot example
    -List of companies.
Some of the companies have been “taken”… when you choose your 3 companies, PLEASE add a comment on the website to the T-shirts section so everyone will know your 3 companies. www.ee.siue.edu/~solar

We rewired the pedals on the solar car last night. However,… there is a
100Amp circuit breaker and a 200Amp fuse on the main power line. The circuit
breaker was broken a few months back… and it appears the fuse was broken as
well. I’ll need to replace one/both of them BEFORE we can drive the car.

I’ll try to find replacements this morning. We can go ahead and have this
week’s meeting to focus on a calendar and list of deadlines, as well as project
    goals and their deadlines.

We’ll try to get the car running THIS week, and focus on recruitment NEXT week.
Thanks for your patience and help!

First of all, Welcome Back! Lots to do, so here goes…

Saturday I went to the heating plant and found workers putting in a new road for us!!! I took some pics (see the “photos” page). Then, on Monday I took more pics of the unfinished road. (I assume it’s unfinished… although I’m NOT a road expert). Thanks to Veronica (dean’s office) for your help and support of the Solar Car Club!!!

  • To-Do Poster, Notes 6/17/09

Posted on June 17th, 2009 zacko 2 comments

    Dear Team,
For the rest of this week AND next week, I will be busy with school and will not be at the heating plant on Thursdays for meetings. (feel free to meet on Thursdays, or any other time you wish!).
I have finished a To-Do poster, and will be putting it in the heating plant. It is filled with sections of the new Regulations that need to be checked. There is also a copy of the new regulations, I think I left them on the desk. If you need something to do, please work on it! Still confused? Here’s some examples:
Example #1: Section 6.4.D states regulations concerning Safety Belts. Please read the section, and then look at our safety belts to see if they adhere to the standards listed. If so, please write “done” on the TO-DO poster. If not, please pencil in “working on it” and put your name.
Example #2: Section 6.4.A and Appendix C cover the Seating Angle. After reading Appendix C, please make a cardboard cutout of the measuring device shown in Appendix C and check the seating angle. Is our seat too reclined? Is it too upright? Please take the angle you measure, and write it in the “status” section of the TO-DO poster.
There are many tasks left to do. Please let me know if you need help or have questions, and I’ll see you in 2 weeks!
